WB HRH Knowledge LearningHealth Systems for Outcome BBL Series: The HRH program team is organizing bi-monthly Brown Bag Lunches (BBLs), a discussion forum targeted specifically at staff from the World Bank and other donor organizations and agencies. The Brown Bag Lunch series named “health systems for outcomes” covers topics and highlights cutting edge research and advances made on health service delivery and health workforce issues in Africa. Sessions are held on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. The BBL is a unique opportunity to discuss HRH amongst the donor community and those in charge of health programs and projects in Africa. For past presentation topics and links to powerpoint presentations click here. WB HD Learning Week: Each year, the World Bank hosts a Human Development Forum and learning week. HD learning week combines both skill building and knowledge acquisition on focused and broad topics to enhance the capacity of World Bank staff and to share knowledge on issues and topics related to Human Development. The HRH program team made the health worker crisis in Africa central to HD learning week 2006, held from October 30-September 6. The team organized a cross fire session on INternational recruitment of workers and disccussants shared insights from a government, donor, research and ethical view.
